FCEM
Frankfurt Center for Electron Microscopy
The Frankfurt Center for Electron Microscopy (FCEM) of the Goethe University offers to academic and commercial users processes and equipment suitable for all applications of modern electron microscopy.
Located at the Riedberg campus, FCEM is a hub for cross-disciplinary units focusing on biochemistry, biophysics, geoscience, physics and inorganic chemistry.
In addition to a focus on bioimaging, FCEM facilities can be used to characterize materials chemically as well as structurally and to prepare them in situ by direct writing techniques (FEBID/FIBID).
Infrastructure / Equipment of FCEM
Microscopes and Preparation:
-
Various transmission electron microscopes (TEM) with cryo holders and many other features
- FIB/SEM for sample preparation and FEBID/FIBID
Processes available in FCEM
- Cryogenic electron microscopy single particle analysis (cryo-EM SPA)
-
Cryogenic electron tomography (cryo-ET)
